The coronavirus (COVID-19) is having an unprecedented impact on individuals, business, and society. At PIC, we are committed to working with our partners to serve our customers, the pork industry and our communities in a responsible way. Our goal is to provide reliable service, while maintaining the health and safety of our people, our operations, and your operations.
We have been taking several actions and have been changing the way we operate. Our actions vary by country to reflect the local situation and government policies. Everywhere, we closely follow local health regulations and respect the policies that our customers and business partners put in place.
In most geographies we have implemented working-from-home policies for non-farm staff in line with social distancing guidelines. This includes more remote support by our Technical Services team. In our farming operations, we are taking necessary measures to ensure the health of our people and their families while we continue to take care of our animals. Together with our distribution and logistics partners we are implementing processes to secure supply of semen and breeding stock and minimize the impact on our customers.
The situation continues to evolve rapidly, and we will continue to evaluate and adjust our processes. We don’t doubt there will be instances where the circumstances will hinder us in achieving our goals. That said, our colleagues are working hard to adapt to the situation and focus on our motto of “Never Stop Improving”. We believe that in leveraging science and technology and collaborating with all industry participants, we will overcome the challenges.
