PIC® at the forefront of sports and sustainability: official sponsorship of the Let’s Umbria Vet women’s team kicks off

At PIC, we deeply believe in a corporate philosophy that never loses sight of the value of inclusion and social responsibility. Having always been close to the veterinary-medical world, today we are truly proud to take a step further by announcing our sponsorship of the women’s 5-a-side football (futsal) team of the Let’s Umbria Vet association.

This partnership holds an even more special meaning for us and is flying our own colors: among the athletes taking the field is our very own colleague Claudia Monticelli, PIC’s Supply Chain Manager for Italy.

This year, the National Veterinary Football Tournament is celebrating its 25th anniversary in the stunning natural setting of the Torre Guaceto Nature Reserve in Puglia.

We are talking about an event that represents a true milestone for the entire profession. It will feature six intense days of informal gatherings and networking, bringing together over 800 people, 21 regional teams, and more than 400 veterinarians from all across Italy. On this prestigious stage, the Umbrian delegation—led by President Luciano Sonaglia—will give it their all, participating in both the men’s championship and the women’s championship, the latter now in its IV edition.

Much more than a simple sponsorship

For us at PIC, this collaboration strikes a deep chord and goes far beyond a simple sporting tie. First and foremost, it means promoting inclusion and empowering talent, actively supporting gender equality and integration within the scientific community. It also means showing proximity to our region: with our Italian headquarters rooted in Perugia, rooting for Umbrian professionals on a national stage is our way of further strengthening our bond with the local community. Finally, there is a powerful professional synergy. We share the same scientific DNA and continuous pursuit of excellence with veterinarians; this tournament thus becomes the perfect incubator for consolidating the human and professional relationships that drive the entire sector forward.

A shared commitment to solidarity and the environment

Moreover, this year’s National Tournament stands out for its strong ethical footprint, which we embrace with deep conviction. The entire event will be strictly Plastic-Free and will champion a remarkable, concrete gesture of solidarity toward marine wildlife.
Through a charity lottery, the organization aims to raise €13,500 to purchase a state-of-the-art therapeutic laser. The device will be donated directly to the Sea Turtle Rescue Center of the “Luigi Cantoro” Nature Reserve in Torre Guaceto, located just a few kilometers from the playing fields.
As animal health professionals, we know very well how much the right medical technology can make a difference in therapy and rehabilitation. This laser will allow the treatment of injured wildlife to the highest technological standards, significantly increasing their chances of recovery and return to the sea.
By blending sporting passion, professional growth, and social commitment, PIC wishes the very best of luck to the women of Let’s Umbria Vet, to Claudia, and to all the participants. We are truly proud to walk—and run—alongside veterinarians in this wonderful adventure!
