Ascheberg, Sint-Michielsgestel – Effective 1 January 2026, Genossenschaft zur Förderung der Schweinehaltung SCE (GFS) based in Ascheberg, Germany, und PIC-NL (Sint-Michielsgestel, Netherlands) have entered into a strategic partnership. This collaboration strengthens the availability of high-quality semen and genetics for pig producers in the Netherlands and beyond.
Transfer of activities
To safeguard continuity and improve efficiency in pig production, GFS and PIC-NL have decided to combine their strengths.
- GFS will take over the production operations of Preferent KI, including semen collection, distribution, and invoicing.
- PIC-NL will assume responsibility for the sales of PIC terminal boar semen previously managed by Preferent KI.
In addition, GFS will acquire Preferent KI’s production site in Landhorst and will lease the Lierop location, including its laboratory, on a temporary basis. Preferent KI staff will continue working in the industry: production staff will join GFS, while the sales team will strengthen PIC-NL.

This collaboration ensures the future availability of high-quality semen – an essential foundation for pig production. Costs can be managed more efficiently and risks more evenly distributed. Efficient semen production is also crucial for PIC and PIC-NL in providing genetics to pig producers. PIC has worked with GFS internationally for many years and is committed to further expanding this partnership. PIC-NL will continue using its genetic and market expertise to help producers drive sustainable improvements in performance.
